Mental health and wellbeing are complex and it’s definitely confusing to navigate in the workplace. That’s where we come in…

At UKIM Occupational Health & Wellbeing we have a dedicated in-house team of psychologists, counsellors, CBT specialists and more, available to offer the correct and tailored support that each individual needs. Whether it’s support for anxiety, depression, stress, or just general navigation of life, there’s support available for employees to ensure positive wellbeing and to tackle absenteeism and presenteeism in workplaces.

Why do workplaces need occupational health psychology and counselling support?

Poor mental health is one of the UK’s biggest crises, and it’s still continuing to grow, as there’s more diagnoses and less public support available. This is having a negative impact on workplaces as more employees are absent from work on short and long-term sick leave, with many not actually returning to work. Data shows:

How does psychology and counselling help?

Our Psychology and Counselling services are here to ensure that all employees have the support they need so that they can attend and thrive in the workplace. We provide a comprehensive range of Psychology and Counselling services to help your employees maintain good mental health and overcome mental health challenges.

We recommend various forms of talking therapies like CBT, counselling, EMDR and more, depending on the bespoke requirements of each individual employee. We understand that there’s not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach and so we make sure that support is tailored.

For example, to support anxiety it is recommended that those seeking support undergo CBT therapy specifically as it is recommended as an effective treatment by NICE.

With our treatments employees can gain a lot of support, benefits and overall see an improvement in their mental health, enabling them to attend work.

What are the benefits for an employer investing in occupational psychology and counselling?

Addressing the mental health concerns and absences is what’s best for business. As employers, it’s important to tackle absences, especially those that can be avoided. With occupational health support, you can be confident in preventing absences and reducing the absences that are costing your business a lot of money.

Support enables better and quicker treatment so that employees who are absent from work, return to work smoothly and effectively. Not to mention, better mental wellbeing means more productivity and greater employee retention as employees are happy, healthy and focussed.

  • Lower absence rates
  • Better retention
  • Reduced costs
  • Higher productivity
  • Greater tangible returns
  • Positive workplace culture
  • Full workforce
